If you know how to play volleyball either on the sea beach or in the court or even in your backyard, then you can add a lot of enjoyment to a party. Also this game does not need a lot of special skills and that is why it is one of the most popular games.
It can be learned quite easily and the entire family can take part in a volleyball match. Thus, friends and family can get together to enjoy a merry contest.
The following basic volleyball rules will help you know how to play volleyball better.
Collect the tools and prepare the ground:
Put up the volleyball net and denote the game limits with a cord (frequently incorporated in the equipment set) or something else to recognize the boundaries. Ideally, the ground must be 48 feet extended and 24 feet broad, and the net be placed at the 24-foot mark of the distance end to end. You may set your boundaries for an unperturbed garden match.
Split your people into two groups:
Both the teams should preferably have equal number of players. The usual volleyball match is carried on with two groups with four or six players in each group. Begin by choosing the side that receives control of the ball by tossing a coin.
Throw the ball:
The person standing at the back-left corner of the ground throws the ball with his hand or arm to drive it on the other side over the net. In case the ball cannot move to the other side, control is given to the rival group. Whenever the opportunity changes sides; people move to the left to alter standings and throwers.
Give back the ball:
There are three hits available on both parts of the net, but no one can strike the ball more than once at a stretch. The purpose is to stay the ball from making contact with the ground and send it to the rival group on the other side. This throwing of the ball persists till one group fails to give back the ball to the rival team or it makes contact with the floor.
Tally positions:
Here, just the group throwing gets scores. Every time the throwing process effects in the throwing group, holding the ball (making a throw over the net and not letting the ball make contact with the floor or move beyond boundaries), the group throwing gets a point. If the throwing group loses hold over the ball, the other group has the chance to throw but makes no point.
Win the game:
The group to score 15 points first is the champ. But, either group has to succeed in the match by more than 2 notches. Therefore, when the results are 15 to 14, the group getting more will not succeed till they make a score of more than 2 than their rival’s. The game carries on usually till this happens.
To know how to play volleyball and to master the sport, remember that though arms and hands are rigorously used to send the ball above the net.The person may employ any body part to send the ball till he or she doesn’t strike it more than once consecutively so that the ball does not stop.
